Curved Red Lines On Rear Projection Hdtv What Causes Curved Red Lines On The Display Of Sony Rear Projection TV?

What causes curved red lines on the display of Sony rear projection TV? - curved red lines on rear projection hdtv

We have a rear projection Sony HD TV. He has worked for 5 years. Recently, we found that there are red lines horizontal curves recorded continuously on the screen. Whether you input (DVD player or cable box), these red lines are continuously displayed when the TV is on. Ideas about the causes and how to solve this problem? Is it something to do with the cleaning of some of its components?

Since all of 5 years is a CRT rear proj. Place all unused to a video input. Do the lines run side by side 2-3 cm from the top down? If so, then this is one of the models from Sony, known CRTs bad (three). Costs for repairs outside the warranty would be over $ 1,000 - and not punishment.

If the red lines are an area (with a photo of a backup) - that the top of the picture - then the problem of the convergence amp IC. Repairs would be around $ 300, but if this is one of the models CRT bad - I mean people in the repair of convergence, because I remember in a short time, just watch) lines of the picture for sale (as is likely, and the pressures that are nothing butOk in it - Never open my toolbox.

The model number as something kp57ws500 kp51wt550

BTW not even try - to clean the filter when you know exactly what you are doing worse ---- --- sometimes even the experts and beginners always make things worse

Because they are curved, I take it in the front panel made of plastic. Can you see yourself when the TV is turned off?
Did you scan the curve MotionGIF used when the dust settles on the screen? If so, you can try a deep cleansing

It can also dirt Inbetween the layers. It is a part of the inner Fresnel screen with an outer layer of protection. In some TVs, the front cover is removed, the layer Outl and thoroughly clean the filter.

If you think it is electronic, you can use to "Settings" menu on your TV and turn on red at the bottom end goes. If the red line seems much more thinly, making it an electronic problem, and I know what you could do something other than buy a new TV.

Goodluck.

if they are still etched red and as you say, then it seems you have made a pattern in blue and green CRTS. If you do not have an extended warranty, then it will be more than a new TV cost to fix it. If you are part of the screen, but then probably not due to components in the convergence correction circuitry.
